Most of the plates used for this atlas were original engraved for the SDUK atlas in the mid nineteenth century. The plates were later sold to Thomas Letts, and subsequently to Mason & Payne PROVENANCE: “Letts’s Popular Atlas”, published by Letts, son & Co.
